Meet Lesley

Fitness Trainer and Personal Coach

I have been teaching fitness classes for over 20 years and have been certified to teach a variety of classes ranging from Step aerobics and Kick-Boxing to Swim Lessons and Lifeguarding.

Previous certifications have included:

  • USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach

  • AFAA Personal Trainer

  • Fitness Counselor

  • Health club manager

  • Aquatic director

  • Age group swim coach of all ages and abilities

Swimming background I started swimming competitively at the age of 7. I lettered in Cross Country and Track in Jr. High and High School and received a swim scholarship from Ball State University (BSU) where I was a High Point Swimmer and MVP all 4 years and the team captain my Jr. and Sr. years. I qualified for Sr. Nationals and was named NCAA Woman Athlete of the Year for BSU.

A little about me...

Personal Achievements 

  • Started competing in triathlon at the age of 30

  • Qualified for the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii in 2012 and 2015

  • Competed in the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in 2010 (2nd place) and 2017

  • All American Triathlete for 10+ years

  • Qualified for Team USA

  • Boston qualified in every marathon

  • Boston qualified in most Ironman events

Hometown Pesotum, Illinois

Education

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Science from BSU

  • Masters degree in Athletic Administration at the University of Illinois

  • Graduate assistant in the Kinesiology department and swim/triathlon teacher

Family I have 3 wonderful kids; Alexa is in Graduate school at the University of Tennessee. Health and Sciences in Memphis - getting her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy. She competed on the WKU cross country and track teams during her undergraduate work. Samantha is a Senior at Arkansas State University and competes in cross country and indoor and outdoor track at A-State. Colton is in 10th grade and is involved in cross country and tennis. I love being a mother, and I enjoy working part time so I can keep up with all of our activities.

I thank God and my wonderful family for supporting me in life and in triathlon. Now my hope is for you to get as much enjoyment out of the sport as I have!
